Trip to Ukraine
In the end of April 2010 from Warsaw will be starting great trip to Ukraine. We will 7 days in our trip and will see Kiev, Odessa and Lvov.
Plan trips:
27.04.2010 – departure from Warsaw to Kiev during Lublin, Lutsk (Ukraine). First night in the train (sleeper carriages).
28.04.2010 – arrive to Kiev or Kyiv (in the morning) – free time for breakfast, accomodation in hostel or cheaper hotel, and walk around centre of Kiev.
Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, is a fascinating ancient city with some remarkable buildings that date to the11th century. Built along the Dnieper River, Kiev is both a modern gateway city to Ukraine and a historic town that blends commercial streets with narrow byways in its Old Town.
You will see:
1) the St. Sophia Cathedral, one of the city’s great and historic landmarks, built in the 11th century (UNESCO heritage)
2) centre of the Kiev (Independence Square, Khreschatyk street)
Khreschatyk is a popular destination for tourists and Kievans. During weekends and public holidays, the street is closed to road traffic and reserved for pedestrians. Khreshchatyk contains many up-market stores, cafés, and restaurants
3) Podol or Podil / Podilskyi Raion
Podol is an old district of Kiev, where craftsmen and fishermen used to live. The district was formed after fire of 1811, when all the wooden constructions burnt down. Several slopes, including the famous Andreevsky Spusk, lead to Podol. The compositional center of Podol is large Kontraktovaya Square, where each house is interesting in its own way. Since 1798 the square was the place for al Russian fairs, and for the needs of customers the Merchants’ Yard was put up. It contained 50 stores with various goods and products.
This day will be finished in small pub in Podol – you can try famous beer form Kiev. Night in the hostel or cheap hotel.
29.04.2010 – second day in Kiev – we will see Pecherska Lavra - also UNESCO heritage
Kiev Pechersk Lavra is one of the oldest monasteries in Ukraine. Presently the headquarters of the Metropolitan of Kiev of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Muscovite Patriarchate
Then – we will go and see: Presidence Palace, House of Government and Parliament.
In the night – begining of travel to Odessa by train.
30.04.2010 – arrive to Odessa – all day walking in old part Odessa
It is barely two centuries old, yet it has a wealth of history. An exclusive necklace of the Black Sea Northern Seashore was decorated with its precious pearl – Odessa (after the ancient Greek colony Odessos, which was believed to be in the vicinity). The city today is a large sea port, a major commercial, cultural, scientific centre of Ukraine. Our trip will beginning from the Odessa Opera & Ballet House along Primorsky Boulevard towards Potemkin stairway, Duke Richelieu Monument.
In the evening will go to railway station and all night going to Lvov.
01.05 – 02.05.2010 Lvov or Lviv
Lvov – old part of the city is preserved as a living museum (and it is UNESCO heritage, also). Rynok (Market) or Central Square, in particular is architecturally exciting with its famous Ratusha (city hall).While touring the Old Town the tourist can see the St.Nicholas Church, the Dominican Church and the Church of Onufriy – at present the Museum of Ivan Fedorov (the first book-printer). This city boasts of Italian Renaissance, German Baroque and Polish influences in its architectural sites. One will be delighted by the visit to the newly renovated Opera House and the Ukrainian Drama Theatre named after Maria Zankovetskaya. St.George Cathedral is a fine example of the Rococo style.
You will also have a lot of time individual sightseeing Lvov, to drink coffee in the famous lviv coffee shops. Lviv is a city where the music playing all the evening .
03.05.2010 – departure to Warsaw
Price is: 220 EUR
including: all the transfers (from Warsaw to Warsaw), 6 nights (3 in train, 1 in Kiev, 2 in Lvov), 2 breakfasts in Lvov, insurance, tour leader care in all time,
excluding: meals, guide in Lviv and entrance tickets
